4-Day Gorilla & Golden Monkey Adventure

Arrive at Kigali International Airport and meet your guide. Enjoy a Kigali city tour including the Kigali Genocide Memorial and local craft markets. In the afternoon, drive north through terraced hills to Musanze (approximately 2 hours), gateway to Volcanoes National Park. Check in to your lodge and enjoy a briefing dinner.

After an early breakfast, transfer to Volcanoes National Park HQ for the morning briefing. Set off with your trekking group and expert trackers into the misty forests. Trek through bamboo and hagenia woodland to find your assigned gorilla family. Spend one unforgettable hour with the gorillas. Return to the park HQ, enjoy lunch, and spend the afternoon relaxing at your lodge or exploring Musanze town.

Morning briefing and trek into the lower bamboo forests of Volcanoes NP to track the endangered golden monkeys — playful, photogenic primates found only in the Virunga Mountains. After the trek, visit the Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village to learn about traditional Rwandan life, try local cooking, weave baskets, and enjoy Intore dance performances.

Optional morning hike to the Dian Fossey tomb and research site (additional fee) or enjoy a leisurely morning. After lunch, transfer to Kigali (approximately 2 hours) for your departure flight or onward travel.
